This poem was sent to the girls in the literary group at WOSIB. When Linda sent it and I read it I asked her if I could use it for the next transition in my story of my life. When I read it I knew that it was the perfect next transition to put here. Linda graciously allowed me to do that. So I hope you enjoy this poem as much as I do. Sami I have an invitation that I would like you to accept ~ One that requires a response from you. I would like you to join me on a journey, I would be happy to travel with you. Set out from your safe harbour And sail on life’s troubled sea, See all the majesty of the ocean ~ Take this journey with me. Let me be your spinnaker and mainsail, Your anchor and mooring rope. Let me be your shelter after the storm Let me give you brand new hope. Come climb the mountains with me And take in majestic scenes, Breathe the cool sweet mountain air ~ Let me show you all it means. Let’s walk the plains together And relish all we find ~ Lets share the good times And those when fate is not so kind. Stand with me under azure skies, Feel the warmth of the sun on your back Let me be here to help and comfort you, Let me give you the courage you lack. Take this journey into the velvet night And see the wondrous stars with me. Listen to the music of the open air ~ Hear nature’s symphony. And as we travel this journey I am sure that we will find We can be there for each other ~ That we can be loving and kind.
